Where does Over The Rail Sportfishing fish?

We fish the Upstate New York area, including Lake Ontario, Oneida Lake, Lake George, Great Sacandaga Lake, Saint Lawrence River, Lake Champlain, Hudson River, Chaumont Bay, Henderson Bay, Mohawk River, Indian Lake, Saratoga Lake, Piseco Lake, North Pond, Oswego River, Sacandaga Lake, Guffin Bay, Lake Pleasant.


What are the target fish?

Target fish include We target primarily Brown Trout and Lake Trout from the moment we launch for the season until the schools of Salmon arrive on the east end of Lake Ontario. Typically we have our first waves of Salmon arrive around July 4th and we target them when available for the rest of the season. We Ice Fish Lake Ontario's sheltered bays like Chaumont Bay and Guffin Bay, Oneida Lake, Lake George, The Great Sacandaga Lake and many other bodies of water throughout New York State. We focus on safe ice and will let you know before the trip what area has the best ice for the safest trip possible. We primarily target Walleye, Pike, Pickerel, Perch and Smelt while Ice fishing but we have the knowledge and gear to target nearly any desired species. All of our Hunting trips take place on public land throughout the Adirondack Park focusing on the remote wilderness areas. Atlantic Salmon, Brown Trout , Chinook Salmon (Also Called King Salmon), Coho Salmon ( Silver Salmon ), Lake Trout, Steelhead Trout, Northern Pike, Muskellunge (A Muskie), American Yellow Perch (Also Called Lake Perch, Perch ), Black Bullhead (Also Called Bullhead), Brown Bullhead (Also Called ), , Crappie , Rainbow Smelt, Walleye , Striped Bass , Smallmouth Bass

We meet at Salmon River Lighthouse & Marina ( 5 Lake Rd, Pulaski, NY 13142, USA ), Northampton Beach Campsite ( 328 Houseman St, Mayfield, NY 12117, USA ), South Bay State Boat Launch ( 25 County Rte 7A, Dresden, NY 12887, USA ), Stewart's Shops Convenience store ( 32 Ridge Ct, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, USA ), Oneida Lake South Shore Fishing Access Site ( 1000 Boat Launch Rd, Sullivan, NY 13030, USA ), Million Dollar Beach Parking Lot ( C78W+V8 Lake George, NY, USA )


Do I need a STATE Fishing & Hunting license?

Yes, a Fishing & Hunting license is required


How much should I Tip?

It is customary to tip 20% of the trip total. We work tirelessly to make sure you have a great experience!


Do I need to bring my own gear?

No, we provide standard gear such as rods and reels so you don’t need to worry about anything. But please feel free to bring you own gear if you prefer.
